This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what rights you have over it. It covers this website only, not any separate agreement you may have with us as a client or supplier.
Who we are
Kemcon is a fabric and furnishings manufacturer based in Cairo, Egypt. For the purposes of Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020 and the EU General Data Protection Regulation, we are the controller of the personal data described in this policy.
Kemcon operates from its factory at Street 151, Industrial Zone 1, Obour, Egypt, and a showroom on Ahmed Fakhry Street, Nasr City, Cairo. For any question about this policy, or to exercise any of the rights below, contact us at kemcon@yahoo.com.
What we collect
Information you give us. When you use the contact form or the product configurator we receive the name, phone number and email address you enter, the message you write, and any photographs you upload. If you build a product brief, it is saved in your own browser and reaches us only when you submit an enquiry.
Information collected automatically, only if you accept analytics. A randomly generated identifier stored in a cookie; the pages you view and how long you spend on them; the products, fabrics, colours and patterns you select; galleries you open and filters you apply; whether you began or submitted a form; and whether you clicked through to WhatsApp. We also record the two-letter country your request came from and the language you are reading the site in.
Information we process regardless. To keep the site working and to prevent abuse, we handle your IP address in passing, a signed counter limiting how many visualisations one browser may generate, and technical error reports when something breaks.
We do not ask for special category data — information about health, religion, politics or anything similar — and we ask that you do not send it to us.
When you send us something
There are two moments on this site where you actively hand us information. This is what happens at each.
The contact form. When you press send, the name, phone number, email address and message you entered are saved to our internal CRM — whose database is hosted in Frankfurt, Germany — and are emailed to our team so that we can reply. Any photographs you attach are uploaded to Cloudinary and kept with the enquiry. Our basis is the steps taken at your request before entering into a contract: you are asking us a question, and we need your details in order to answer it. We do not ask you to consent separately, because consent is not what makes this lawful.
The fabric visualiser. When you generate an image, we send a written description of the fabric, colour and piece you selected to an automated image service outside Egypt. That description is assembled from your choices in the configurator. No photograph of yours is sent with it, and nothing in it identifies you — the image that comes back is generated from that text alone.
In either case you can ask us afterwards to delete what you sent. See Your rights below.

Why we use it, and our legal basis
To answer your enquiry and prepare a quotation. Our basis is the steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, together with our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries.
To generate a visualisation when you ask for one. Our basis is our legitimate interest in providing a feature you asked to use; only a written description of your selections leaves this site.
To understand how the site is used and to improve it. Our basis is your consent, given through the cookie banner, which you may withdraw at any time.
To keep the site secure, prevent abuse of the visualisation tool and diagnose faults. Our basis is our legitimate interest in running a functioning service that is not being abused.
To comply with legal obligations, where any apply to us.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.
We use service providers who process data on our instructions and under a written agreement: Vercel, which hosts this website and measures its performance; Neon, which hosts the database behind our internal CRM in Frankfurt, Germany; Cloudinary and UploadThing, which store and deliver images including photographs you upload; our automated image provider, which receives a written description assembled from your configurator selections in order to generate an image; our error monitoring provider; and our email provider, which delivers your enquiry to our team.
If you choose to continue the conversation on WhatsApp, that exchange is governed by WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy policy, not by this one.
Where your data goes
We are based in Egypt, the database behind our CRM is in the European Union, and some of our providers process data in the United States and elsewhere. Where personal data leaves your country we rely on the transfer mechanisms available under the applicable law — standard contractual clauses under the GDPR, and the conditions for cross-border transfer set out in Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Law.
How long we keep it
Website analytics are kept for 90 days. After that the events are deleted, and any visitor record left with no events and no associated enquiry is removed with them.
Enquiries, and the quotations that follow from them, are kept as part of our commercial records for as long as we have a relationship with you, and for as long afterwards as we need or are required to keep them.
Photographs you upload are kept with the enquiry they belong to and are deleted with it.
Your product brief stays in your own browser until you clear it.
Your rights
You may ask us for a copy of your personal data; to correct it; to delete it; to restrict or object to how we use it; to receive it in a portable form; and to withdraw any consent you have given. You can withdraw analytics consent at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything that was lawful before you withdrew it.

If you believe we have handled your data improperly, you may complain to Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Centre or, if you are in the European Economic Area, to the supervisory authority where you live or work.
Security
Traffic to this site is encrypted in transit. The visitor identifier is cryptographically signed so that it cannot be altered or guessed, our internal CRM requires a password before any data can be reached, and access is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat these obligations seriously.
Children
This site is aimed at businesses and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use personal data we will update this page and the date shown at the top. Where a change affects something you consented to, we will ask you again rather than assume your previous answer still stands.
